Alberta Health Services says no cases of COVID-19 have been announced yet in Medicine Hat’s long-term care facilities.

As of Monday morning there were 20 cases overall in the south zone which includes Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and the surrounding area. We know that nine of those are in Medicine Hat, six in Lethbridge, two in Taber, two in County Forty Mile and one in Cypress County.

AHS has decided to no longer provide details of the number of cases admitted to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.

Alberta has also decided to not provide any breakdown of the numbers admitted to hospital, ICU or the number recovered for Medicine Hat or even the entire zone.

“We are not providing zone breakdowns on recovered cases or those in hospitalizations at this time. We are announcing all outbreaks at continuing care facilities, including the facility,” said Tom McMillan assistant director communications Alberta Health.

Why exactly is that?! We have the right to know every detail about this thing which is killing people and turning all our lives upside down!! If you stop announcing details, people will let down their guard……this nightmare will go on for months as a result!
