The Medicine Hat & District Food Bank is not open to walk-in traffic but they are working hard to deliver food hampers to those in need.

Celina Symmonds, executive director, says the only way to get one of those food hampers delivered is to leave a telephone message at the food bank: 403-528-4313.

“Leave a message, we will call them back with the delivery time of their hamper,” said Symmonds.

If there are times when the telephone message box is full, please call again. There are volunteers who are responding to those messages, generally 100 a day, said Symmonds. A team of people is working hard to get about 100 hampers delivered each day.

Symmonds notes the whole team is working to provide for those in need during a difficult time with the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is a note on the door of the food bank informing people of the new protocol during the need for social-distancing.
