You don’t necessarily have to leave your house in this pandemic to get groceries. Five local grocery stores – Safeway, South Country Co-op, Sobey’s, Superstore and Save-on-Foods – are offering various forms of delivery. Superstore is accepting online orders through its Click and Collect website to pick up in person for a fee ranging from $3 to $5, depending on the time of day. Payment is accepted via cash, debit, credit or gift card. Pickup can occur any time within an allotted time slot. At Co-op, you can call the store before noon and leave your name and number for staff to get back to you later in the day to confirm the delivery, which occurs the next morning. This is available seven days a week and costs $10 for a minimum order of $35. Sobey’s is accepting phone orders for next-day delivery on weekdays before 11 a.m. It costs $11 for four boxes and increases from there. Orders for Save-on-Foods can be placed online, for either pickup or delivery within the city. First order is free, but after that costs $4.95 for a $40-minimum order. Same-day delivery if you order before 10 a.m. Safeway is delivering groceries to those who have already arranged for it in-store through a third-party delivering service for $10. 8
