Brooks shutters facilities for precaution

By Medicine Hat News on March 17, 2020.

The City of Brooks has announced it’s shutting down all municipal facilities to the general public.

This order was in effect as of Sunday evening as a response to the chief medical officer of health’s press conference that day.

Although there are not yet any confirmed COVID-19 cases in Alberta Health Service’s south zone, which includes Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Brooks and Taber, the City of Brooks says it’s shut-down is being done for “precautionary reasons.”

Brooks residents seeking assistance will, however, be able to contact city staff via phone or email, in addition to electronic systems, such as Virtual City Hall and Newell Connect.
