The annual Paddling Film Festival World Tour has not been cancelled.

The festival is slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Medicine Hat Public Library Theatre and organizer Rick Redmond says things are up in the air.

“We’re in unprecedented times,” he said. “We’re hoping we can host this event Tuesday, but we just don’t know for sure right now.”

Redmond says he is happy with the lineup of films that are on display this year, but wants everyone to stay safe.

He says the festival board will continue to meet before making a final decision Monday.

People are encouraged to follow the Medicine Hat Paddling Club social media pages for updates.

If the event does run, tickets can be purchased at the door.

The paddling club is also hosting a free public paddling lesson event March 22 at the Family Leisure Centre.

The event runs from 2-4 p.m. and Redmond says everyone is welcome.
