ALERT Medicine Hat has arrested three individuals after seizing about $15,000 in methamphetamine during a traffic stop Tuesday.

The total amount of drugs seized was 253 grams, which police believe was being transported into the city.

In a news release, Sgt. Cory Both called the bust the result of a “quick-hit investigation in which police were able to develop timely intelligence.”

Both told the News this simply means the investigation wrapped up the day it began.

“It took very limited resources time-wise for us to begin the file and conclude it,” he explained. “We’re very much reliant on tips from the public and the public has been very co-operative with us over the long haul, particularly in recent weeks, so this was just a matter of our investigators getting information that was timely, reacting quickly and getting good results in short order.”

Olivia Marshall, 29, of Medicine Hat, is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and breach of a court release order.

Patrick Brill, a 33-year-old from Medicine Hat, is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Travis Lange, a 28-year-old from Redcliff, is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Both said the three suspects are well known to police for their alleged involvement in the drug trade and were on their way back to the city from Calgary at the time of their arrest.

“We were able to intercept them on the way back after they picked up their supply of drugs,” he said.
