Representatives from STEP Energy gathered at the Ronald McDonald House on Friday for a Holiday donation.
The local chapter of STEP managed to raise more than $11,000 to donate to the house, and the STEP head office matched it – bringing the total to $22,571.80.
“Every year each STEP base takes part in the Christmas Spirit Campaign and each base picks a charity to raise money for,” said service centre administrator Tamara Lich. “STEP Calgary then matches what we raise, dollar for dollar.
“It’s always nice to help the community and we’re thankful our Calgary office matches what we donate.”
Lich says the group held a number of social events like barbecues and raffles to raise funds for RMH.
“Every year we support a different charity,” she said. “We send an email out to all of our professionals to see what charity they want to support.
“Last year we supported mental health, this year we’re helping the Ronald McDonald House.”
