The first public consultation with Alberta’s Fair Deal Panel will take place today in Edmonton and there will be one in Medicine Hat next month.
Discussions with Albertans will help determine how best to define and secure a fair deal for the province, to give it a bigger voice and increased power in areas of provincial jurisdiction plus improved economic interests.
Albertans are encouraged to attend local town hall sessions to share their vision.
There will be a meeting in Medicine Hat on Jan. 17, 2020. A location and time are still to be announced.

The Fair Deal Panel will consult with policy experts and undertake research to inform its recommendations. The panel will complete its report to the government by March 31, 2020.
Drew Barnes, MLA for Cypress-Medicine Hat is one of the members of the panel. He was first elected MLA in 2012 and has a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Alberta.
