Police have issued a warning that a bad batch of street drugs may be circulating in Medicine Hat after officers responded to two opioid overdoses one hour apart overnight. A release states that in the early morning hours of Thursday, officers responded to the separate incidents and successfully revived two people using Narcan, also known as noloxone, to reverse the effects of the overdoses. The service now states that it is concerned that the concentrations in the illegal narcotics are too high and that users may get a higher-potency drug than suspected. Officers are investigating to find the source of the drugs, and are accepting tips from the public. They are also reminding drug users to be aware of potential problems and that numerous local agencies can assist those with addictions or those in crisis situations. Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to contact the MHPS at 403-529-8481 or submit at tip anonymously through the MHPS Mobile App, which is available at no charge on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 7
