A week in jail for bursting into Tim Hortons’ kitchen, shouting at staff

By Medicine Hat News on November 22, 2019.

A man who scuffled with police officers after entering the kitchen of the Tim Hortons near the police station and shouting at employees has been sentenced to a week in jail.

Dakota Tailfeathers pled guilty Thursday in provincial court to mischief and resisting arrest.

According to the agreed statement of facts, Tailfeathers entered the Tim Hortons kitchen at 5:37 a.m. on Nov. 4.

The workers huddled in the corner while he screamed at them, although police arrived shortly.

Crown prosecutor Ramona Robins said Tailfeathers “seemed to be paranoid,” suggesting the cops were out to get him and putting up physical resistance.

Tailfeathers’ criminal record dates back to 2007, including a $500 fine for a mischief conviction earlier this year.

Since Tailfeathers has been in custody since his arrest, he was given full credit for time served.
