Medicine Hat News Police have apprehended an individual suspected of a string of car break-ins in the early hours of Sunday morning. The thefts were mainly concentrated in the Ross Glen Crescent area and primarily involved the theft of loose change, electronics, credit cards and wallets, according to a Medicine Hat Police Service news release. “With the assistance of some astute people, at about 5:59 a.m., an adult male was apprehended in the Somerside neighbourhood,” the release said, adding that the matter remains under investigation. Police were unable to respond to request for further comment by press time. The press release provided some tips for members of the public to avoid becoming victims: – Locking your vehicle, including the glove box and console – Park in a bright, well-travelled spot where there are many pedestrians – Roll up the windows and don’t leave a spare key in the vehicle – Remove valuables – Conceal garage door openers – Use anti-theft devices, such as a steering wheel lock or car alarm – Remove credit cards or personal identification from the vehicle 14
