By medicinehatnews on November 18, 2019.

A 52-year-old man is in custody after a Saturday afternoon hit-and-run in the city’s southeast.

The Medicine Hat Police Service sent out a media release around 6 p.m. confirming the man was caught and is facing charges.

Police, fire and EMS attended the intersection of Strachan Road and 13th Avenue around 3 p.m.

Multiple vehicles collided with an older-model Chevrolet truck that was driving erratically, according to the MHPS release.

The truck, then heavily damaged, fled the scene and was located near by in the area of 4000 13 Ave.

The vehicle was reported as driving dangerously roughly 15 minutes earlier near the Husky on the Trans-Canada Highway. A video of that incident is circulating the internet.

Police say no injuries were reported. Damages are estimated at more than  $100,000.
