A local car dealership is donating $75,000 to the Hat’s Ronald McDonald House.

Murray-Chevrolet-Cadillac – and the Murray Automotive Group it’s part of – is contributing the funds needed to build a room at the house, which is still under construction.

“Murray’s being a long time in the car business, whatever communities they’ve been in, have always been ones to give back to the community and we felt that this was one that really stuck with everybody,” said Murray-Chevrolet-Cadillac general manager Damian Mannion.

“It’s a great cause and we’re proud to do it.”

Many staff at the dealership, as well as members of the community at large, “have all been affected in some way with the cancers and treatments that go on for those who are fighting it.”

“There’s challenges along the way, and it’s important that while they’re facing those challenges and struggles sometimes that there’s a positive side,” Mannion said.

“The house is really what gives a positive side of things and we just thought it was the right thing for us to do.”

Garrett Keetley, who works at Murray-Chevrolet-Cadillac, says the Murray Automotive Group is composed of more than 30 stores.

“We’re all pitching money in to donate $75,000,” he said.
