The owner of Super T Aviation in Medicine Hat has confirmed one of its aircraft crashed near Hanna in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The only person in the aircraft was a private pilot who is currently working on his commercial pilot’s licence, said Terri Super, CEO of Super T Aviation. The pilot’s name was not being released.
She said the accident took place after midnight and before 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
“The student was taken to the hospital and released from the Hanna hospital …” said Super.
Super T Aviation operates a flight school in Medicine Hat.
Super has been out of town and was still making her way back to the Hat on Tuesday when she talked to the News by telephone. She said details of the circumstances regarding the crash are not available yet.
“We haven’t been able to talk to him (the pilot) yet. We brought him back to the Hat and he is resting right now because it was kind of all-night sort of thing, I can’t say what exactly happened,” said Super.
