AHS info session on mental health Wednesday at MHPL

By Medicine Hat News on May 7, 2019.

Alberta Health Services is hosting a local event Wednesday to raise awareness of mental health week.

The theme is “connection” and the importance of connecting with others in simple ways that can help to build resiliency and result in thriving communities.

There will be a display from 1-4 p.m. at the Medicine Hat Public Library with information, resources and promotional items about mental health.

AHS says mental illness affects one in every five Canadians but mental health affects everyone.

“If you are struggling – whether it’s day-to-day stresses, a loss of a loved one, home or job, or family crisis – know you are not alone. There are supports in place to help you cope,” says an AHS press release. “Help can come in many forms and some may need more support than others.”
