Pair arrested after city police locate stolen cargo trailer and drugs

Two men arrested after local police found a stolen cargo trailer will remain in custody after appearing in Medicine Hat provincial court on Thursday morning.

Police announced later in the day that they had arrested and charged Thomas Kundert, 36, and Shane Foster, 48, after discovering a stolen truck and cargo trailer near a Flats area residence.

A 23-year-old women was also charged with possession of stolen property after the seizure on April 16, police state.

They say a search warrant of the property uncovered a truck and trailer that contained a quad and welding equipment valued at $35,000.

Authorities further allege that 39 grams of methamphetamine, valued at $3,900, was discovered on one individual.

Kundert is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, drug trafficking, possession of stolen credit cards and breaking the terms of his probation. His matters were put over by the court.

Foster faces charges of possessing stolen goods and drugs. Through lawyers he declined a bail hearing on Thursday, after it was discovered he would be held on charges of breaking a federal probation order. His case will next come up on April 23.

Mindy Rumbolt, 23, is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order. She has been ordered to appear in court on May 8.
