Utility regulators have approved a connection plan for a new solar farm near Suffield that will be under construction this summer, as well as a minor change to corporate ownership of the 23-megawatt facility. The Alberta Utility Commission approved a request by Fortis that the facility be joined to their grid transmission system at completion, expected later this year. As well, the applicant, C&B Alberta Solar Development ULC, informed the AUC that it plans to operate the facility under a wholly owned subsidiary known as Suffield Solar GP. Company officials told the News in February that they plan to begin site work at the 202-acre site south of the Trans-Canada Highway at Range Road 10. More than 200 workers could be requited to install the 90,000 panels. 5
