Firefighters find a cat, just not one trapped in a trap

There was no luck Thursday night for the Medicine Hat Fire Department when looking for a cat potentially stuck in a storm drain in Crescent Heights. “We did not find a cat last night,” said platoon chief Kevin Heinrich. “There was nothing in the trap, but when the guys did go up around 7:30 a.m. There was a cat there sitting on the grate eating. “They tried to approach and catch the cat but weren’t able to.” Heinrich says the firefighters aren’t sure if the cat they saw is the one that is potentially living in the grate. He added that they will continue to check back on the trap they set Thursday afternoon for a few more days. 6-5
