Two of the region’s largest employee training businesses have merged to create F&S Safety Buzz.

The merger took place Dec. 1 and the combined group is now hoping to help as many businesses become safe as possible.

“We’re a safety company and we do everything from training all the way to safety management,” said co-owner Amy Zuk. “We really pride ourselves in being part of all industries — everything from oil and gas, construction, health care, government programs and most recently agriculture.”

The company now has a combined 40 years of experience serving the community and has aided several local businesses with safety at the workplace.

“Every business can learn from us,” said Zuk. “Every business can learn from us because they all have certain safety standards they have to abide by.

“We try to communicate with each business and figure out what they need so we can train their staff as best we can.”

The group says it is always trying to expand to provide support for as many businesses in as many fields as possible, endlessly preaching the importance of safety at the workplace.

“We want everyone to be able to go home in once piece so they can live their lives normally,” said Zuk. “If you hurt yourself, lose a finger or lose a limb at work — that changes your life drastically.

“If there’s a fatality, there’s so many people relying on you — people need to get home safe. We want people to know how to be safe, but we also want them to understand why they’re being safe.”

Co-owner Mike Forbes says the demand for workplace safety training will never go away.

“Safety is important — it’s that simple,” he said. “Everyday things change and safety changes with it.

“We’re always going to be here for people who need our services.”
