RCMP in Leader,Sask. are looking for 21 calves they say were stolen from a property near Prelate, Sask., during the month of November.

A release states the animals are tagged and also branded with the letters “HE” on the right ribs.

Anyone with information should contact the Leader Detachment or any local RCMP detachment.

Body ID’d

RCMP in southwest Saskatchewan say they have identified the body of a man found near the Trans-Canada Highway last week, but are not releasing the name of the Ontario man who was 58 years old.

Authorities now believe that a passing car hit the man on the highway shoulder about seven kilometres east of the Alberta boundary on January 4.

They say the man was from Metcalf, Ont., a suburb of Ottawa, and was identified by information shared by the public.

RCMP are still investigating the death and are asking anyone who witnessed a vehicle with damage travelling east on the Trans-Canada after the time of the accident, between 7 and 8:15 p.m. (Central) on Friday, Jan. 4 to contact police.
