Police are investigating a suspicious death downtown.
According to a news release, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service went to an apartment building on Fifth Street SE Thursday around noon to check in on an individual who had been reported missing.
Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased male, who was transported to Calgary for an autopsy by a medical examiner.
The death is being investigated by the MHPS Major Crimes Unit, which will provide further information when the autopsy results are given to investigators.
“There are no public safety concerns regarding this incident at this time,” the news release read.
