Women’s shelter holding memorial service Thursday for Montreal Massacre victims

The Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society is holding a memorial service Thursday to honour the victims of the Montreal Massacre and gender-based violence.
From 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Medicine Hat College’s Centennial Hall Hatters can drop by to create tissue paper flowers with a message of hope attached.
The memorial ceremony will start right at 6:30 p.m. at the hall in MHC.
It will feature guest speakers, a reading of the names of the 14 victims of the massacre and a moment of silence.
The day marks the 29th anniversary of the massacre, which is the deadliest mass shooting in Canadian history.
