Redcliff woman charged after stolen property recovered near Vulcan

A Redcliff woman is among five charged after RCMP in Vulcan recovered a trove of stolen property.

Executing a search warrant at a rural property near Vulcan, Mounties recovered firearms, crossbows, ATVs, drugs, copper wire and more. The property was stolen from the Vulcan, Medicine Hat, Brooks, Redcliff, Strathmore and Calgary areas. A marijuana grow op was also found on the property.

Shaun Laraine Matchett, 22, of Redcliff has been charged with four counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, seven counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of break and enter tools and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Matchett remains in custody and was scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on Nov. 16.

Two Vulcan residents, Danny Robert Longbotham, 47, and Shannon Lynn Murray, 37, face numerous charges similar to Matchett’s. Brian Christopher Aske, 40, and Ross Brian James, 37, both of no fixed address, also face similar charges.
