Medicine Hat News A Town of Oyen employee has been fined and barred from operating a drinking water system for three years, Alberta Environment stated on Wednesday. An agreed statement of facts posted after a guilty plea states a former town foreman had only taken testing samples of the town’s potable water system at the municipal shop, rather than at four various locations as is mandated. This took place from 2010 until 2016 when a town councillor questioned the process. Darcy Dobrosky, who had been town foreman for 25 years, resigned following an emergency town council meeting called to deal with the issue. This week he was fined $1,000 for failing to comply with reporting standards and is not permitted to work in a public or private water operation for a period of three years. 7
