A number of specially-marked wine bottles have popped onto store shelves today with proceeds from each bottle going to support the Medicine Hat SPCA.
“All of the liquor stores carrying this wine are going to be selling it for $14.99 a bottle,” said Darrel Dola who works with Beverage International Distributor. “This is a really great wine for that price point and it’s wine that people are going to like.
“We’re labeling red and white bottles and $2 from every bottle will be donated to the Medicine Hat SPCA.”
The wine will be carried at Co-Op liquor stores, the Canalta Centre, Aberdeen Spirits, Paul Howe Liquor Stores and Southwest Liquor with a limited number of bottles available.
“We get this wine specially made from our head office,” said Dola. “This is French wine that we bring in under the Reflections label.
“We use this wine for events and we really like to use it for fundraising events, because everyone’s a winner with events like this.”
Dola says the SPCA approached him to inquire about a donation and he says he wanted to do a little more than just writing a cheque.
“When they asked me about a donation I just told them I was happy to do this,” he said. “This is for anybody who likes wine and it’s a bonus if you love pets, too.
“If you’re a pet lover this is something you can’t miss.”
Dola says there’s eight stores carrying the wine and more information can be found at the stores.
