Downtown detours for Sunday’s Remembrance Day events

There will be some road closures Sunday to accommodate events and ceremonies for Remembrance Day.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., Finlay Bridge will be closed, and First Street SE, from Fourth Avenue SE through to N. Railway, will close to traffic.

These closures will facilitate the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Esplanade (commencing at 9:30 a.m.) followed by a parade down First Street to Veterans Memorial Park and the cenotaph where a service starts at 11 a.m.

The closures will be in effect until the ceremony has concluded sometime after noon.

Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs and to take extra caution while driving downtown due to increased pedestrian traffic.
