Community Foundation accepting applications for Smart and Caring grant

Medicine Hat News The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta is now accepting applications for its fall “Smart and Caring” grant period. About half of the group’s expected $400,000 outlay this year will involved this round, which is open to proposals from registered charities and closes on Oct. 1. Funds are the result of investment income from the Community foundation’s near $13-million endowment fund. Grants are awarded to “a broad range” of categories of community need, according to a release. They include disaster relief, health, education, environment, the arts, culture, recreation and community development.
