It’s a week of celebrating all things Stampede at Masterpiece Southlands Meadow seniors’ complex.

On Wednesday, just off the patio, a full range of gleaming vintage vehicles were on display, and the dining room was buzzing with people enjoying lunch.

When the Gone Country band was playing, Win Walker’s feet were tapping and her body moving even as she sat at a table. She’s been living at Masterpiece since last November and says her health has improved because of it.

“It’s like a resort,” said Walker excitedly, noting the entertainment comes to her.

Tim Garforth-Bles, president and CEO Masterpiece Care Corp., says the response from residents and families since the complex opened late last year has been very positive. The dining room area, opening on to the patio, has become a hub for activity and entertainment, helping to create an atmosphere residents gravitate toward.

Masterpiece has begun excavation for its second phase of building, which will add another 80 people to the complex. The construction is expected to be complete by Christmas 2019.
