Strachan Corner will boast the opening of another business this week — Liquor Depot — next door to the planned supermarket.
The old Walmart building was demolished on site. making room for the new retail complex by Brentwood Developments, and it is to include a Save-on-Foods supermarket.
When Save-on-Foods will open its first Medicine Hat location is not clear at this stage.
Liquor Depot commences operations on Thursday with contests and giveaways to celebrate the grand opening.
A 7-Eleven convenience store, car wash and gas station were unveiled in the complex late last year, as well as a new Tim Hortons fronting on to Strachan Road.
A Bed Bath & Beyond store is slated to be part of the complex but the location and possible date of opening is not known.
Site development includes buildings around the perimeter with parking in the centre.
A building closer to the off ramp from the Trans-Canada Highway is for a hair and body retailer.
Brentwood Developments website has a schematic showing how Strachan Corner is likely to look after development.
