Driver charged with making illegal turn after a collision with a city bus

Medicine Hat News One man has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act for making an unsafe left turn after a collision between a transit bus and delivery truck. Medicine Hat police report that on Tuesday at 1:44 p.m., emergency services responded to a collision between the bus and a Ford E-450 delivery truck that had occurred in the intersection of 13th Avenue SE and the Trans-Canada Highway interchange. Police say the transit bus entered the intersection on a green light as the driver of the truck made an illegal left turn into the path of the oncoming bus, which then caused the truck to strike a traffic light. There were no passengers on the bus at the time, as it was being used for a driver training exercise. No injuries were reported and the total combined damage is estimated at $37,000. 6-5
