Medicine Hat News The public is invited to attend the Palliser Triangle Health Advisory Council meeting on Monday in Bassano. The meeting will be held in the Bassano Medical Clinic from noon to 3 p.m. On the agenda to speak is Ron Wickson, chair of the Bassano and District Health Foundation. Katherine Chubbs, chief zone officer for Alberta Health Services’ south zone, will report on the Health Quality Council of Alberta “Focus” report. There will also be a round table update on “community engagement.” Attending the advisory council meeting is an opportunity to hear about health care in the region and to provide feedback to AHS regarding health-care services. There will be an opportunity for public feedback shortly after commencement of the meeting. Health advisory councils play a role in supporting the strategic direction of AHS by engaging members of their communities throughout Alberta. Public participation helps improve the quality and accountability of health services. Working in partnership with AHS is an important way to ensure services are more responsive to the needs of those who use them, says AHS.
