Woman enters guilty plea for careless storage of a firearm

prevell@medicinehatnews.com @MHNprevell A guilty plea for one count of careless storage of a firearm was entered Thursday by a woman arrested in April after police seized a cache of firearms at an Irvine residence. Defence counsel for Brandalyn Brandham entered the one plea on her behalf, adjourning sentencing to Dec. 21. Brandham does not have a criminal record, defence noted, requesting adjournment so a pre-sentencing report can be put together. PSRs look at an accused’s history, outlining mitigating or aggravating factors to consider for sentencing. The arrest came on April 12, after police executed a search warrant at an Irvine residence and seized 10 firearms, three of which were prohibited due to modification of barrel length. Also seized were four homemade silencers, prohibited magazines, bear spray, 20 grams of marijuana and several boxes and storage containers of ammunition. Brandham’s co-accused, Denver Ailsby, has entered not-guilty pleas to the numerous charges he faces, with a two-day trial set for Feb. 8-9. The remaining charges against Brandham — including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, four counts of possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of a controlled substance — will also be dealt with on this date. 8
