Catherine O’Hara, the Emmy-winning actor known for comedic roles across the decades — from Kevin’s beleaguered mom in “Home Alone” to the iconic Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek” — died Friday at 71.
Her management confirmed O’Hara’s death but didn’t offer any further details.
O’Hara got her start at Second City Toronto, working as a waitress, before joining the sketch comedy company’s cast and eventually the television adaptation, “SCTV.” She was awarded the Order of Canada in 2018.
