Description
Luis Alberto Donoso Novoa (Beto, Betuco, Bestito) 1953-1996 Thirty years have passed since you left us, yet you have always been in our hearts. It once felt impossible to live without your presence, essential and necessary not only for us, your family, friends, and comrades, but also for those who crossed your path, discovered you, and admired you. They say time heals all wounds, those that ache to the very depths of the soul, those that seem so painful they leave us breathless and in part, it’s true. Little by little, tears gave way to memories, and with you, there are so many! Your sensitivity, your social commitment, your immeasurable respect and love for humanity, for our planet and everything on it. How you were able to appreciate this world up close, it filled your being with wonderful emotions: the bears, the swallows, the geese, the fish, the vegetable garden, the flowers, the water, the earth, the firmament, and even the air! At home, you had your garden, but the world was your Eden! And with all of this, your music reappears in our memories. Your songs full of messages of love, protest, and hope. Music was your emotional escape, your refuge, your therapy. You were an artist, and your beautiful hand-carved wood or embossed copper graces your family’s homes and those of so many others to this day. This and much more is what has replaced our tears; it is what lives within us, what gives us courage and what comforts us. We thank you for such a wonderful legacy – you left a lasting influence on all of us. We loved you, we love you, and we will always love you. You left so soon that there were dreams you didn’t get to fulfill, but you are in a different Eden now, in that home where peace reigns, beyond the sun. Till forever, dear Bestito, papi, hermano, t o! Your daughter Lorena and her Mom Magaly, your sisters Malu and Silvana, your nephews and nieces Alvaro, Paulina, Adolfo, and Romina.
