Johanne Marie St-Jacques of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, July 31st, 2013 at the age of 60 years. Johanne leaves to cherish her memory four children. Johanne will always be remembered by her good friend, Winfried, who cared and loved her very much. .KAMBEITZ
Bernard (Ben) Kambeitz was called into eternal life on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat at 78 years of age. Son of Frank and Theresa (Klein) Kambeitz, Ben was born on January 4, 1935 at Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. He married Pamela Durnin, a nurse from Australia, in 1972 and together they enjoyed many happy years in Richmound where they raised their two sons, Jeff and Stephen, and ran an extensive farming operation. Ben and Pamela moved to Medicine Hat where Ben pursued his love of mechanics and began collecting and refurbishing vintage Lincolns as a hobby and enjoyed displaying them in car shows. His friendly, outgoing personality and quick wit won him many friends. Left to cherish his memory are Pamela, his beloved wife of 41 years, their sons Jeff (Mora) and Stephen (Candice) and grandchildren Shae, Madison and Hudson; his sisters Josephine (Bill) Stodalka, Sister Teresita, Carol Sproul, Dolores Stodalka (Ken Reynolds) and Audrey (Keith) Eslinger and his brothers George (Jean), Jerry (Agneta) and Peter (Lynda) Sereda, as well as twenty three nieces and nephews and twenty seven great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 2005 and his mother in 2013. The vigil of prayer will be held at the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Philip Le as presiding celebrant. Interment will take place at the Richmound cemetery at a later date. .SCHLINKER
Marvin Schlinker passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the age of 79 years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Bonnie Schlinker. Also remembering Marvin fondly are Bonnie’s children, Tom (Kathy) Pahl, Susan (Brent) Gutfriend and Greg (Joanne) Pahl as well as their children and grandchildren, Tyrel, Heather, Hally and Evyn Pahl, Chance, Vanessa, Adelaide and Ransom Pahl, Amber, Mark and Marshall Shantz, Wyatt Gutfriend and Jackson, Grace and Bennett Pahl. Marvin will also be remembered by his brother, William (Sharon) Schlinker and their children, Mark (Pearl) Schlinker and Wendy Schlinker; his sister, Agnes (Dave) Thomson and their children, Bill Thomson (Maggie Coates), Kathy Thomson, Bonnie (Stephen Baker), Adam and Rory Baker; his sister-in-law, Delphine and her children, Ian (Shannon) Schlinker and Aaron Schlinker. He was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Elsie Schlinker; one brother, Vernon and two nephews, Owen and Jason Schlinker. Marvin was born and raised south of Medicine Hat in the Wisdom District area. He remained on the family farm and loved the land, his neighbors and the farming lifestyle. In 1995, Marvin married Bonnie Hutchison-Pahl and shortly thereafter, they moved to Medicine Hat. He continued to keep active with curling, bowling and visiting with family and friends. He and Bonnie loved to travel and explored many areas of both Canada and the United States. Marvins memorial service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert Findley officiating. .TEENA BUECKERT
1928 ~ 2013
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Justina (Teena) Bueckert, one of the most vibrant and colorful ladies we have come to know. Teena passed on to another adventure on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the age of 84 years. At her side were her two sons, Rick and Terry (Heather). Along with her sons, Teena is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa (Ray) Corefield, Jennifer Bueckert, Sara (Jason) Jarawsky, Aja and Joel Bueckert; sisters, Jean (Fred) Hope and Louise Charko; brother, Dennis (Zoria) Kanasevich; sisters-in-law, Ella Bueckert and Betty Remple as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur, in 2005. Teena was born in Eatonia, Sk., on October 17, 1928. She grew up on the farm and was a very hard worker. After High School, she moved to Redcliff and worked at the Glass Factory where she met Arthur John Bueckert. They were married in October of 1947 and lived in Redcliff for all of their years, working at the factory, raising their two “bratty” boys and enjoying friendships at the Legion. Teena was always looking to have some fun and especially enjoyed playing bingo and cooking… her borscht was exceptional! A Funeral Service will be held at Gordon Memorial United Church, 401 – 2 Street S.E., Redcliff on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Blaine Schaufele officiating. Private Interment will follow at the Redcliff Cemetery and the Celebration of Teena’s life will continue thereafter at the Redcliff Legion. Rose Thome of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the age of 85 years, beloved wife of the late Alexander Thome. She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Sandie Rieger of Medicine Hat, Debbie (Jim) Hoff of Redcliff, Brenda (Lloyd) Ziegler of Irvine, Darlene (Darcy) Dallard of Redcliff and Carey Thome (Patrick Rousseau) of Calgary; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Otto (Florence) Fischer of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Tillie and Fred Fischer; her husband, Alex on August 4, 2007; one daughter, Delores Stuber; one son-in-law, Dennis Rieger; five brothers, George, Albert, Walter, Gus and Charlie Fischer; one sister, Katie Heitzman and one stepbrother, John Kahl. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Bill Schnitzler officiating.
