Ruby Hellen Siggelkow, with family by her side, peacefully changed neighborhoods on Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at the age of 89 years. The Funeral Service was held yesterday at First Assembly of God. Mrs. Martha Satter of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Orbin Satter, passed away on Wednesday, August 28th, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Martha leaves to cherish her memory two sons, David (Josephine) Satter of Perth, Australia and Kevin (Susan) Satter of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Ken (Crystal) Froment of Airdrie and their children, Korynn and Kaitlyn, Jessica Satter of Houston, Texas and Luz Celiss Satter; one sister, Bertha Undseth of Pennant, Saskatchewan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 1943 ~ 2013
Mrs. Eunice Ethel Slessor, beloved wife of the late Mr. Curtis Slessor, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the St. Joseph’s Home Carmel Hospice on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the age of 69 years. Eunice leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Shelly (Monty) Betcker and their children, Rylee and Clay; special friend, Linda Kissel; brother, Richard (Sandy) Hemmaway; sister, Joan Vollman; mother-in-law, Anne Slessor; brother-in-law, Allan (Pat) Slessor as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Rob Slessor; parents, Tim and Ethel Hemmaway and her father-in-law, Bob Slessor. Eunice was born to Tim and Ethel Hemmaway on September 3, 1943. She received most of her schooling in the Medicine Hat area, making her home here. Family time of any kind was cherished. She enjoyed spending time in her yard, but her grandkids were her passion (she was their biggest volleyball fan!) A Celebration of Eunice’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Maury McNeil officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Center. .GUTORMSON
Richard James Gutormson died at the age of 74 on Tuesday, August 26th in Calgary, Alberta. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Larson, her husband Lenard, and their children. He was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He lived most of his adult life in Medicine Hat. His passion was golf and spent much of his time enjoying it. He moved to Okotoks, Alberta about 5 years ago to be near his daughter and her family while struggling with dementia. Sadly he died very unexpectedly only days after being diagnosed with lung cancer. .KEN SEEFRIED
Ken Seefried (retired RCMP) in 1996 in Salmon Arm B.C., Husband of Sandy Seefried and father of Kristine Semrau, was taken from us suddenly on August 27, 2013. He was doing what was one of his passions, riding his Honda Goldwing, when he was taken. Ken and Sandy made many trips together with both bikes.
Ken graduated from Foremost in 1969 and graduated from the RCMP in 1971 in Regina. His first posting was in Campbell River and then to Vancouver, Nakusp, Williams Lake, Anaheim Lake and Salmon Arm, B.C. He retired in 1996, whereupon Sandy and Ken moved to Medicine Hat, AB.
Ken is survived by his dad Harold, mom Doris, sister Arlene and her husband Ron, and his brother Larry; his grandchildren, who he loved dearly, Kyara and Kaden. They both loved riding with him on his bike.
Ken’s passion was hunting with Sandy for many years, he also enjoyed hunting with his daughter, grandchildren and with his other friends. They had many adventures in the B.C. mountains and the prairies.
A ceremony will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, August 31st at the Masonic Lodge at 42 Bannon Ave. S.W., Medicine Hat. An Honour Guard of Motor Cycles will be present from the Toy Run, which Ken and Sandy faithfully attended every year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to H.A.L.O. in Ken’s honour.

.LILIA ARNOLD
1923 ~ 2013

Sometimes memories escape the eyes, run down the cheeks,
and kiss the lips goodbye…

Mrs. Lilia Emma Arnold, beloved wife of 65 years to the late Mr. Henry W. Arnold, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, August 26, 2013, at the age of 90 years. Lilia was born on July 1, 1923, southwest of Maple Creek, SK., to Frank and Emma Schultz. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Wilfred and William, and sisters, Rosy Brace, Minnie Stadel, Charlotte Jans and Esther Wise. Lilia leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Beverly (Gordon) Enslen of Minesing, ON., Shirley Jean Arnold of Bow Island, AB., Walter (Debra) Arnold of Maple Creek, SK., and Randal (Colleen) Arnold of Swift Current, SK. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Dumont; one brother-in-law, Howard Arnold as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. Henry and Lilia spent most of their retirement years travelling, camping and visiting their family and friends. Lilia received much joy from spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, or as she called them, “her little visitors”. She never turned down a game of cards and her favorites were Smear, Farmers Rummy or any other game of cards or dice that brought friends and family together at the table for good times and much laughter. Lilia often tested the flour for Maple Leaf Mills by baking the best buns and bread in all of Medicine Hat! She will be forever in our hearts and memories. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so starting one hour prior to the Celebration of Lilia’s life which will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta on Friday, August 30, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Center.
