The Brooks RCMP responded Tuesday to a single-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of a 35-year-old Pincher Creek woman. At approximately 2:10 p.m., Brooks RCMP and other emergency services including EMS, fire and peace officers answered multiple calls of a single-vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway 36 and Highway 539, south of Brooks. RCMP say a damaged SUV was found in the west ditch and after medical aid was provided to both occupants, the Pincher Creek resident was declared deceased at the scene. A child with serious injuries was transported and subsequently airlifted to hospital. The RCMP’s investigation determined the vehicle was travelling northbound on the highway and entered the opposite ditch, eventually rolling over. RCMP say they will continue investigating the matter but do not believe speed or alcohol were a factor. 6
