Waves Swim Club races at winter provincials

The Medicine Hat Waves Swim Club sent three swimmers to provincials.

The local swim club raced at the Winter Provincial Championship in Edmonton over the weekend, with three swimmers representing the Waves.

All three set new club records, Francesco D’Ursi (Boys, 17) in the long course 1,500m Free, William Miller (Boys, 17) in the long course 50m Back and 100m Back, and Sydni Martens (Girls Open Para, 22) in the 100m Free, 100m Breast and 200m Free.

Francesco D’Ursi finished fourth in 800m Free and 1,500m Free, 10th in 400m Free, 18th in 200m Free, 24th in 100m Free and 36th in 50m Free.

William Miller finished sixth in 1,500m Free, ninth in 200m IM, 11th in 100m Back, 13th in 400m Free, 16th in 50m Back, 20th in 200m Free and 34th in 50m Free.

Sydni Martens finished second in the 100m Breast and 200m Free and fourth in the 50m Free and 100m Free.
