The Medicine Hat College Rattlers men's futsal team captured a second straight championship this weekend, beating the NAIT Ooks 7-3 in the ACAC finals Sunday hosted at the Snake Pit.

The Rattlers men’s futsal team retained their ACAC championship for another year.
Medicine Hat College’s men’s team won the ACAC championship for a second straight season, beating the NAIT Ooks 7-3 in Sunday’s final, winning all three games of the championships held at the College’s Snake Pit.
Joao Nascimento had three goals in the final, Joao Cintra and Tata Mugisha each had a goal and two assists. Jackson Grace and De’Shaun Gelinas-Ca each scored in the championship winner, Stefan Vrska started the game in net, making 11 saves. Maksymilian Slaweta made three stops.
They opened the finals weekend with a 9-4 win Friday over the Lakeland College Rustlers. Cintra had four goals, Mugisha had a hat trick and Aleksa Bijelic scored twice. Vrska made 12 saves.
The Rattlers punched their ticket to the final with a 7-2 win Saturday over the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks. Bijelic had four goals, Mugisha scored twice and Nascimento had a solo tally. Vrska started in net, making 14 saves. Slaweta made four saves in relief.
MHC’s women’s team finished fourth in the finals weekend, falling to the SAIT Trojans 7-1 in Sunday’s bronze medal final.
Alexis Ratke scored MHC’s lone goal Sunday, Rylan Morhart made 14 saves.
The Rattlers opened the tournament Friday with a 7-3 win over the Keyano College Huskies. Ratke had three goals and two assists, Charley Indzeoski had three goals and one helper. Nicoly Souza had a goal and an assist, Abby Lalach made 22 saves in net.
MHC lost 2-1 Saturday to the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder. Nicoly Souza scored for the Rattlers, Lalach made 14 saves.
