Canada’s Einarson to play for world curling championship gold, beats Japan 11-3

CALGARY — Canada’s Kerri Einarson will play for gold at the women’s world curling championship.
Einarson’s Manitoba team defeated Japan 11-3 in Saturday’s semifinal. Japan shook hands after eight ends.
Canada will face the winner of the other semifinal between Switzerland and Sweden for the gold medal Sunday.
Einarson and teammates Val Sweeting, Shannon Birchard and Karlee Burgess seek their first world title.
Einarson’s teams won bronze medals in 2023 and 2022. She aims to keep the women’s world curling crown in Canada.
Rachel Homan’s team won back-to-back gold in 2024 and 2025.
