Waves Swim Club races at Alberta Winter provincials

The Medicine Hat Waves Swim Club raced at provincials over the weekend.

The local swim club sent five swimmers to the Alberta Winter Provincial Trials hosted at the Big Marble Go Centre.

Kaden Goffinet set a new club record in the (Boys 17) short course 200m Breast.

Three Waves Swimmers set new qualifying times. Sophie Baht (Girls 16 and over) 50m Breast, Avery McDonald (Girls 15) 50m Free and Isabel Miller (Girls 13 and under) 50m Breast.

The Waves’ individual results were:

Kaden Goffinet (17): Finished third in 200m Breast, fourth in 100m Breast, sixth in 50m Free and 50m Back, ninth in 50m Breast and 100m free and 26th in 50m Fly.

Sophie Baht (14): Finished second in 50m Breast, fourth in 100m Breast, 15th in 100m Fly, 17th in 50m Free, 21st in 50m Fly, 26th in 100m Free and 30th in 50m Back.

Elizabeth Humphreys (15): Finished third in 50m Breast, 12th in 50m Fly, 15th in 100m Back and 16th in 50m Free.

Avery McDonald (13): Finished ninth in 50m Free, 32nd in 50m Fly, 36th in 100m Back, 47th in 100m Back and 52nd in 50m Back.

Isabel Miller (13): Finished fourth in 200m Breast, 11th in 100m Breast, 13th in 50m Breast, 45th in 50m Free, 50th in 100m Free and 58th in 50m Back.
