Starting Friday, Gas City residents can hit the annual Spring Home and Leisure Tradeshow, which promises to offer something for every Hatter.
This year features more than 180 vendors, says chamber of commerce events manager Brad Tajiri. These vendors range from fencing and landscaping to vehicles, with just about everything in between.
“We have a really good selection of food this year,” said Tajiri. “We have tons of vendors that are both selling food and mini donuts and dirty sodas that you can have at the show, but then there’s all your favourites to take home, like salsa and sausage and olive oil. The list really just goes on.”
New this year is the presence of an entire tiny house on display for visitors to explore, as well as the presence of an activity area, where attendees will be able to take part in a pick and paint, or even a fitness class on Saturday.
“It’s just something new and something different,” said Tajiri. “We’re always listening to feedback and what people would like to see in the show, and what would make it fun for everybody. We’re also offering a $10,000 home refresh package as our grand prize, and everybody who comes to the show has a chance to enter to win.”
The show starts at noon Friday and runs until 8 p.m., then 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Those interested can get tickets either at the door for $6 per adult and $4 for seniors and youth, or purchase them ahead of time online ato save a dollar.
It’s common for there to be a significant line to get in, says Tajiri, which those who pre-purchase their tickets can skip, making it something he strongly encourages for tradeshow enthusiasts who want to make the most of their visit.
