Application window opens for Medicine Hat’s capital grant program

The application period is open for the small funding stream of the City of Medicine Hat’s capital grant program.

The capital grant program was created in 2025 to provide non-profit organizations in the city with a straightforward and standardized way to submit funding request for capital projects.

The program has two streams, small and large.

The small funding stream is for capital requests under $300,000 and covers up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs.

There is one application for both streams. Projects will automatically be adjudicated as either large or small funding stream requests.

Large stream requests have no deadline. The deadline for expressions of interest for the small funding stream is Tuesday, Mar. 31 at 3 p.m.

For the purposes of the grant, a capital project is defined as a development or betterment of an asset with physical substance, including land or land leases, and assets which have a useful life behind one year, are used on a continuing basis and are not for sale as part of regular operations.
