A total lunar eclipse is coming to Medicine Hat, and the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is inviting residents out to learn about this unique astrological event. A total lunar eclipse, when the Earth is fully between the moon and the sun, allows the moon to appear blood red. This full ‘blood moon’ will be visible in the early hours of Mar. 3, from 4-5 a.m. That evening, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., attendees will gather to share experiences, learn about the phenomenon and take a walk around Police Point Park. This hour-long program is free to attend and requires no registration, though anyone interested in attending is encouraged to bring weather-appropriate attire and photos of the eclipse if they can.
