With the beginning of nominations for the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta’s 7 Over 70 Awards just around the corner, residents are invited to start thinking of those among them who might be deserving of recognition. The award follows in the footsteps of the Calgary Top 7 Over 70 Awards, which were founded in 2017 by philanthropist Jim Gray. It aims to celebrate the innovative or new achievements of older individuals and highlight their contributions in the fields of science, literature, sports, agriculture, philanthropy and the arts, among others. “The Top 7 Over 70 Awards not only applaud remarkable accomplishments but also serve as an inspiration for generations to come, emphasizing that age is not a barrier to innovation,” said CFSEA. Nominations open Mar. 2, and will run until June 30. Nominations for those in Medicine Hat and the surrounding region will be accepted through CFSEA, with an Awards Gala to be held Oct. 14. 5
