Valentine’s Day weekend has a some unique event options available

Medicine Hat is gearing up for the long weekend and Valentine’s Day with a series of local opportunities to spend time with friends, partners, or the community at large.

Today, astronomy enthusiasts will start at Grit City Distillery before heading out to Eagle Butte Observatory for a presentation on the “tale of Orion and the 7 Sisters,” which is something of an ancient love story. At the time of writing, tickets are still available.

On Friday, Miller’s Herbs & Haunts will host a Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt for singles, starting at 7 p.m. Those interested can participate for $20.

Young romantics aged 4-6 can register for a story time and craft session on Valentine’s Day itself at the Medicine Hat Public Library.

Older residents have their pick of couples and single person’s events throughout the city, including a showing of Pretty Woman at The Monarch Theatre, Dinner and Dancing at Casa Amigos Cantina starting at 4 p.m, or “Love in Full Swing” with cocktails and small plates at Medalta.

As many of these events are ticketed, those interested are encouraged to act quickly to secure their spot.
