Watershed Explorers closes out on Feb 22, offering a final challenge to young nature enthusiasts. In the sixth and final part, Watershed Challenge will focus on residents’ role as stewards of the watershed. Previous instalments, aimed at children ages 6-12, have covered subjects such as creatures that call the watershed home, water quality and native plants. Along the way, participants have earned badges for taking part in each segment, with a prize awaiting those who manage to collect all six. Meeting at Police Point Park at 2 p.m., those interested will now explore the existing challenges to this important ecosystem, and the various ways anyone living in the area can contribute to keeping the watershed healthy and thriving. As space is limited, prospective attendees are asked to register by calling 403-529-6225, or visiting the Nature Centre. 5
