Campers will be able to book spots at both Gas City and Echo Dale campgrounds online starting Monday morning.
Beginning at 8 a.m. campers can book sites for the season at medicinehat.ca/camping.
Gas City Campground, located off the Trans-Canada Highway, has approximately 100 sites, a community campfire pit, sheltered kitchen and is close to hiking and bicycle trails, the pump track and dog park.
This year, the city is opening the Gas City season earlier and closing later, providing campers six additional weeks to enjoy the outdoors.
The Gas City season will kick off April 6. It has previously opened on the last Friday of April. Campers will also be able to enjoy Gas City until the end of October, instead of closing on Thanksgiving.
Echo Dale Campground offers 10 sites located by the lake and swimming area. The park also includes a beach volleyball court, playground and open space for baseball and soccer.
There are also several mountain-bike trails in the area and an interpretive farm area with tours available on weekends.
The city says Echo Dale’s season schedule will remain standard this year. Echo Dale’s shoulder season runs from April 6 to May 28, while its regular season begins on May 29 and runs until Sept. 7.
