Waves Swim Club competes at Alberta Winter Festival

The Medicine Hat Waves Swim Club raced at the Alberta Winter Festival over the weekend.

The local swim club sent eight swimmers to the festival featuring the fastest 12 and under swimmers in Alberta.

Wesley Henderson set a new club record in the nine-year-old girls 50m free, tying the original record, setting new records in the 100m Free and 50m Back.

Isla Johnson (Girls 10-year-old Para) set club records in the 50m Free, 50m Back, 50m Breast and 100 Free.

Avery McDonald set a new provincial time in the Girls 14-year-old 50m Free short course.

Individual results

Ethan Bennett (Male, 11 and under): Finished 32nd in 200m Breast, 33rd in 50m Fly, 36th in 100m Breast, 39th in 50m Breast, 42nd in 100m IM, 48th in 100m Free and 49th in 50m Free.

Wesley Henderson (Female 10 and under): Finished eighth in 100m Free, 13th in 100m Breast, 14th in 50m Breast, 22nd in 100m IM, 23rd in 50m Free, 27th in 50m Back and 42nd in 200m Breast.

Davis Hodel (Male 10 and under): Finished 18th in 50m Breast, 19th in 100m Breast, 24th in 100m Back, 31st in 50m Back, 33rd in 50m Free, 34th in 200m Breast and 41st in 100m Free.

Isla Johnson (Female, 9-12): Finished second in 50m Breast, fourth in 50m Free and 50m Back, 26th in 100m Breast and 40th in 100m Free

Avery McDonald (Female, 12): Finished 14th in 50m Free, 16th in 50m Breast, 20th in 200m Free, 21st in 100m Free, 27th in 100m IM, 31st in 100m Breast and 32nd in 200m IM.

Isabel Miller (Female, 12): Finished 13th in 200m Breast, 19th in 50m Breast, 25th in 400m Free, 27th in 100m Breast, 29th in 100m IM, 39th in 50m Free, 40th in 50m Back and 41st in 100m Free.

Connor Tweten (Male, 12): Finished 13th in 400m Free, 17th in 200m Breast, 23rd in 50m Breast, 34th in 100m Breast, 35th in 100m Back, 38th in 50m Back and 50m Free and 45th in 100m Free.

Oliver Tweten (Male, 10 and under): Finished 18th in 100m Breast, 22nd in 100m Back, 24th in 50m Breast, 29th in 50m Free and 50m Back, 36th in 100m Free and 44th in 200m Breast.
