Ringette Roundup: U16 Mustangs sweep doubleheader Saturday

The Medicine Hat U16 Mustangs took care of business in doubleheader ringette action this weekend.

The Mustangs hosted the Lethbridge Rattlers at the Moose Rec Centre on Saturday.

They won the first game 8-4, led by four goals from Breanna Lanuk. Margot Kerr, Lacey Gibney and Kassidy Etienne each scored, and assists came from Lanuk, Kerr, Gibney, Etienne, Tian Van Maarion and Rielle Forsyth.

Jacqueline LeBlanc was between the pipes.

They carried the momentum into the second game, trouncing Lethbridge 8-1.

Lanuk scored four goals for a second straight game, Etienne, Margot Kerr and Myah Weber each scored solo tallies. Lanuk, Gibney, Van Maarion, Etienne and Sloane Berstad had assists, Emma Pinnell was between the pipes.

The U16 Mustangs play a doubleheader against Bow View 2 at the Moose Recreation Centre on Feb. 1.

U14

The U14B Medicine Hat Mustangs were in Calgary for a couple games on Sunday.

They fell short in both games, losing to Calgary South-1 9-2. Myah Weber scored with Kassidy Etienne and Kathie-Lee Sehn assisting, Etienne also scored with Brinley Cross assisting.

The second game was against Calgary South-2, an 11-5 loss. Weber scored with Charlie Singh and Rhya Weinberger assisting. Etienne also scored with Sehn record with an assist. Cross found the back of the net with an assist from Haven Ward. Weber scored again with Dannalee Sawchuk and Annabelle O’Reilly assisting. O’Reilly also scored, assists to Sawchuk and Weber.

Grace Stirling was in net for both games.

The U14B Mustangs are off this weekend before they head to Saskatoon for the City of Bridges Tournament Feb. 6.

U10

The U10 Step 2 Mustangs had two games against Lethbridge Blue on Sunday.

In the first game, Kylie Klaudt and Talia Chartrand was in net and Ashlee Dupuis scored.

Teagan Forsyth and Sadie Rykes was in net for the Mustangs in the second game. Klaudt had two goals and Brinley Chabluk had a solo tally.
